One of the best gift was tickets to “Kooza” by Cirque du Soleil last night.
It was amazing to see the balance between tension and laughter and their performance bringing everyone together.

A very nice dinner at Japanese restaurant IZUMI in Kirkland with 20+ friends from my old job. Many of old co-workers left the company and/or return to Japan in recent years. It was good to see friends or my extended family there.
Today is a start of my long weekend camping trip in Cascade Mountains, will be offline til Monday.
For those friends who could not join, look forward seeing you next time in Seattle, Tokyo or NYC!

Finally NYC had a nice spring weather this weekend so our roof deck was used with friends for a dinner; cheese and olive, mussel with white wine, burger, and potato salad, very summer like food.
Preparing mussel is easier that you think:
- Have some good white wine
- Buy fresh mussel
- Clean them (here is some video from external site with ad showing how to clean mussel). Very important to remove dead one, clean shell, and remove beard.
- Have some wine
- Chop onion, lemon, garlic, mix them in pot with olive oil, salt, sage, little bit of ginger and wasabi
- Pour a cup of white wine
- Put mussel in pot and mix with oil and garnishment
Then enjoy remaining wine, wait until shell opens (5 - 10 min.), serve in large bowl with some bread.
マンハッタンもやっと春らしい天気、久しぶりに友達と屋上で夕食、メニューはチーズとオリーブ、ムール貝、そしてハンバーガー、夏っぽい食事で
ムール貝の料理は意外と簡単:
- 美味しいワインを楽しむ
- 新鮮なムール貝を買う
- 貝を洗う(上記英語の部分にコマーシャル付き、貝の準備のビデオあり)、重要：貝は1つ1つ手で洗って、死んでる貝を除いて、ひげを取り、貝に着いてる汚れを取る
- ワインの楽しむ
- タマネギ、レモン、ニンニクをきざみ、オリーブオイルを大きなパンで温め、そこにきざんだ材料と香辛料、セージ、塩、生姜を少々、わさびを少量、入れ炒める
- 白ワインを1カップ、沸騰直前で
- 貝を入れ、素材と混ぜる
残りのワインを楽しみ、約５〜10分で貝が開くとできあがり、大きな器に丸ごと入れ、パンをいっしょに食卓へ、パンを美味しい汁に漬けて食べる

All of my photo are done using digital camera. That is not to say I dislike film, I just started photography one year ago and most of entry level equipments are digital these days.
Week ago, I had a chance to visit friends in Edgewater (near MITSUWA), and played with his camera.
Something magical about medium format twin lens camera.
Light and shadow looked in different color, and alive through the viewfinder.

Wash your hand when you come home. H1N1 is smaller than fiber so wearing mask has only minimum protection. And eating pork won’t get you one.

Photo taken at “en”, a good Japanese restaurant in West Village. Some friends and I had a chance to enjoy a private dining room after the theater last weekend. Good selection of Shochu, home made tofu, yuba. Reminds me an upscale izakaya in Tokyo.

Went to another Broadway Show, “God of Carnage”.
Yet another emotional show, drama between two married couples, lots of laugh, great performance by Jeff Daniels, Hope Davids, Marcia Gay Harden, and James Gandolfini from “The Soprano”.
またブロードウェイへ、今回は “God of Carnage”.
前回と同じく2つの夫婦を取り巻く感性豊かなストーリーで笑いまくり、出演はHBOのテレビ番組で有名な James Gandolfini、Macia Gay Harden、Hope Gay Harden、そしてすばらしい演技の Jeff Daniels

Went to see “August Osage County” with friends, great play, 5 Tony Awards, and great acting by Estelle Parsons.
A part of story was too real to me, reminded me my family, I was laughing and crying at the same time.
The Music Box theater interior is very nice too.
久しぶりにブロードウェイのショー、August Osage Countyを友達と、トニー賞を５つ受賞しただけあって、スゴクおすすめ、とくに母の役のEstelle Parsonsの演技は感動
ただ、あまりにも内容が自分の家族に似ていて、笑いながら涙が
劇場、 The Music Boxの内装も一見の価値あり
